Hi all,
I have been trying for quite some time and have had some issues with my AI's. One day I was prescribed Arimidex for a very small (if anything, less than 5 pills) gynecomastia. It had a small increase in size in my breasts and I couldn't breastfeed. I went to a doctor and was told that the estrogen would not be affected but it did seem to have a slight amount of estrogen in the blood, so I didn't see any issues.
I was told that the estrogen would take about 5-10 days before I would have any symptoms. I did have some breast tenderness that night and I was able to get a breast pump and the doctor went to the pharmacy and bought a new one. I am taking it for my gynecomastia but it is only taking a week.
I have taken arimidex and the estrogen has not gone to a level that I am able to control. I have been on Arimidex since the day I started on the medicine. The estrogen did seem to be in the blood but the amount of estrogen was just a tiny bit too small. I am now taking it every day.
The Arimidex does not cause hot flashes, bloating, or other changes in the breasts as the estrogen is not a hormone. If you have a hot flash or bloating that you have in your breast, it could be due to the estrogen in the blood.
I will be taking this for the next few days as the estrogen is not being absorbed so I am not sure whether it is due to arimidex or some other cause. I would still like to see if the estrogen is still working but I am not sure whether that is going to be a problem for me.
My blood test was normal (no ovulation). I am on arimidex and am currently taking it for a few weeks.
My AI is on 1 mg every day and is working fine. I do have a little bit of pain but nothing to worry about. I will probably try to take it every day for the next few days but it does not seem to be working.
I'm currently on a monthly cycle of 10mg Arimidex and 1 mg/day. It seems to be working well for me and my AI is working well.
My questions are these:
1. Are there any side effects associated with this Arimidex?
2. Are there any serious side effects of taking this medication?
3. Why am I doing this and if I should be taking it?
4. Is there a way to avoid taking the Arimidex in a different dose?
5. Are there any risks associated with the use of this medication?
6. Can I stop taking it completely or I risk having side effects?
7. Can I stop taking the Arimidex for a period of time after I stop taking the AI?
8. Is it safe to use an Arimidex for a few weeks after stopping the AI?
9. Should I be taking my Arimidex daily for the next 5 days?
10. Should I stop taking the Arimidex for a period of time after I stop the AI?
Does this mean that the Arimidex will not be the only choice for you?
I'm on 1 mg every day. I am on Arimidex for 6 weeks. I am taking it every day.Does this mean that I will be on 1 mg daily for the next 5 days? It seems to be working well for me.
